As a child, founder Ilana Kugel built her dream of designing swimwear on the lively beaches and emerald

green waves of Rio de Janeiro. Growing up in Brazil, her love of fashion led her to study Design at the private,

prestigious school in Universidade Anhembi Morumbi (UAM) located in Sao Paulo. The combination of

weekdays working in the city and weekends at the beach gave her the inspiration for designing Brazilian

swimsuits with a glamorous metropolitan influence.

After moving to Los Angeles, Koral Swimwear was born in 2010. Drawing on her world travels, Brazilian

influences and California lifestyle, Ilana created a collection of one and two-piece swimsuits and cover-ups with

innovative silhouettes to make any woman feel beautiful and feminine. Koral Swimwear includes a combination

of custom designed, fashion-forward prints and essential solids. This collection has a beach chic fit for a refined and

timeless sophistication whether playing volleyball on the beach or sipping refreshing Caipirinhas by the pool.

“I imagine a woman’s body like a blank canvas. As she travels around the world, she incorporates her travel

inspirations into her daily wardrobe from a day in the office to a night out. Her refined style should also extend to

the beach or wherever her life takes her!”

Ilana currently lives in Los Angeles near the beach, where she continues to draw inspiration for her swimwear

collection.
